Roof framing design software for carpenters

Roof framing design software — from building dimensions to workshop-ready elements.

Krokwio v1.0.0 is a browser-based tool for carpenters and timber framers. Build roof geometry, generate framing elements, inspect them in 2D and 3D, prepare notches and element cards, and organize cutting data, PDF documentation and QR identification in one workflow.

Built for the framing workflow

More than a rafter calculator.

Krokwio connects roof geometry with the elements you actually prepare in the workshop. The same project feeds the 2D drawing, 3D model, element list, workshop cards and documentation.

01

Roof geometry

Define the building, roof type, pitch, ridge, eaves and the geometry required to generate framing elements.

02

Framing systems

Work with rafters and supporting elements including collar ties, purlins, posts, tie beams, braces and base beams, depending on the selected configuration.

03

Workshop element cards

Select an element from the 2D view, 3D model or list and open its dedicated card with dimensions and preparation data.

04

Notches and end cuts

Keep notch geometry, support points and rafter-end information connected to the actual element instead of using isolated calculations.

05

Openings in the roof

Roof windows and chimneys affect real workshop elements: interrupted rafters are split into actual pieces and linked with trimming elements.

06

PDF, print and QR

Prepare documentation for the workshop and jobsite, and use QR identification to reach data for a specific element quickly.

Krokwio v1.0.0

One model. Multiple views. One consistent set of data.

The first full version of Krokwio brings the geometry, framing configuration, workshop preparation and documentation into one connected project.

Custom framing

Build a project from the framing modules you need instead of being locked into one fixed configuration.

Collar ties and supports

Collar ties, purlins, posts, tie beams, braces and base beams are part of the same project model and material workflow.

2D ↔ 3D

Use plan views, sections and 3D to inspect the same geometry and move from a selected element directly to its workshop data.

Element navigation

Move through workshop cards element by element instead of repeatedly returning to the complete framing list.

Save and restore

Save the project together with its framing configuration and reopen it later for continued work.

Polish and English

Choose Polish or English before entering the workspace. Krokwio keeps the selected interface language while you work.

Workflow

From roof dimensions to workshop documentation.

Krokwio is designed around the sequence a carpenter follows when turning roof geometry into actual timber elements.

01 / INPUT

Building and roof

Enter the main dimensions, choose the roof type and define the geometry.

02 / GEOMETRY

Slopes and ridge

Calculate roof geometry, eaves and the relationships required for element placement.

03 / FRAMING

Generate the structure

Rafters, hip rafters, jack rafters and selected supporting elements become part of one project.

04 / WORKSHOP

Cards and cutting data

Review dimensions, notches, ends, numbering and the data needed to prepare each element.

05 / OUTPUT

PDF, print and QR

Prepare workshop documentation and identify individual elements on the jobsite.

For carpenters and timber framers

Designed around practical roof framing work.

Krokwio is aimed at people who need to translate roof geometry into real timber pieces without building the entire workflow from scratch in a general-purpose CAD system.

Carpenter

Quick access to geometry, dimensions and preparation data for the selected framing element.

Workshop

Consistent numbering, cutting information and element cards instead of scattered notes and separate spreadsheets.

Jobsite

Use element identifiers, printouts and QR access to connect the physical timber with its digital project data.

2D and 3D verification

Use different views to inspect the same framing model.

Plan view, section and 3D each reveal different aspects of the project. Together they help detect inconsistent placement before workshop documentation is produced.

Plan view

Check spacing, openings, purlin runs and element positions across the roof.

Section

Review roof pitch, ridge height, collar-tie position and support levels.

3D model

Inspect how the elements meet in space and select elements directly from the model.

Workshop and CNC preparation

Structured data before timber reaches the machine or saw.

Krokwio organizes element IDs, sections, lengths and preparation data so they can be discussed with a timber supplier or prefabrication/CNC partner. Machine-specific production formats depend on the equipment and software used by the fabricator.

Element IDs

Keep consistent identifiers between the model, cutting list, workshop cards and printed documentation.

Material list

Group real framing elements by section, length and quantity when preparing a timber order.

Prefabrication handoff

Use structured project data as a starting point for pricing and technical coordination with a prefabrication company.

English calculators & guides

FAQ

Common questions about Krokwio.

Is Krokwio available in English?

Yes. Krokwio v1.0.0 includes Polish and English interfaces. You choose the language before entering the main workspace.

Does Krokwio run in a browser?

Yes. Krokwio is a web application and can be launched directly at app.krokwio.pl without installing desktop software.

What roof types does Krokwio support?

The current workflow focuses on gable and hip roofs, together with configurable roof-framing elements and custom framing modules.

Is Krokwio a structural engineering program?

No. Krokwio supports roof geometry, element organization and workshop preparation. It does not replace structural calculations, a structural design or decisions made by a qualified engineer.

Can Krokwio prepare data for CNC work?

Krokwio can organize element geometry, IDs, sections, lengths and workshop data. Final CNC file formats and machine instructions depend on the specific fabrication system and must be agreed with the production company.

Krokwio v1.0.0

Open the application and start a roof project.

Choose English or Polish at startup and continue directly to the roof-framing workspace.

Important: Krokwio helps with geometry, element organization and workshop preparation. It does not replace structural engineering calculations or the structural documentation required for a building project.

Manufacturing and EU delivery

Need prefabricated timber framing delivered from Poland?

Request an individual quote for CNC roof frames, timber frame houses and prefabricated timber structures, including possible delivery to EU countries using the contractor’s own transport. Manufacturing and delivery terms are confirmed for each project.
